Holiday

It is Labor Day. I value the workers and support a day off. I am off too, because clients choose not to come in. I watch TV. I talk on the phone. I play games on the computer.

I look forward to a work day tomorrow.

The Star

Julie and Carrie went to see Les Miz In LA. Clearly not for the first time. Jules sang the whole time. She knows every word.

Someone got a standing ovation.

Paranoid

I have become preoccupied with possible problems when traveling by plane. Being grounded. Cancelled flights. Carrie just went to visit Julie. There was no room for her carry-on. It was taken by the flight attendant.

It got lost.

Frustration

Booking a flight to Michigan was so aggravating. Each week the schedules were different. And when I finally decided when to go, one flight was $1400.

I did not book that plane.

Accident

I was rear-ended as I drove, ironically, to a doctor’s appointment. I was pushed into the car in front of me. Subsequent pain from where the seat belt held me in.

First accident when I was driving.

All Is Well

The hurricane Hillary and a 5.1 earthquake hit southern California at the same time. Everyone I spoke to had no damage. The climate does continue to change and challenge us.

Relief for now.

New Experiences

Isaac returned from his 239 mile walk on the John Muir Trail. He said he hitchhiked for the first time and drank alcohol for the first time. The whole journey was fabulous.

Growing up.

Hopeful

Our dinner group is going to Napa tonight for a meal prepared by our friends there. They sometimes forget and do not show up where we are meeting. We are remaining optimistic this time.

We will find a restaurant, if worse comes to worse.

New Career?

When Julie travels, she always confers with Carrie about what clothing to take. Carrie is not available this time, so Julie told me to anticipate a call from her. I choose not to. I am advocating Ari, my 15-year-old grandson who has a vast array of talents.

I await their call so I can inform them of how I have offered their services.

He’s Off

By the time you read this, Isaac will be back from his 23 day excursion on the John Muir Trail. He went with two friends. It required extensive planning on their part. He is doing what he loves, immersing in the outdoors.

He did not get this from me.
